Prime Edition: Updating to the latest version

From CFTP

Jump to: navigation, search

This applies only if you already running ColoradoFTP Prime Edition and your server is outdated.

First download the latest version of the server.

Unzip the downloaded file cftp-prime.zip into a temporary directory of your choice. This will create coloradoftp-prime sub-directory, rename it to coloradoftp-update as you will update your existing FTP server from this sub-directory.

Locate the home directory of your existing FTP server, the one you want to update. It is probably named coloradoftp-prime. See the build number of your FTP server in conf/build.txt file, you may need it during this update.

Contents

Binaries update to Build 7

  1. Copy the content of the coloradoftp-update/lib directory into the lib directory of your FTP server overwriting existing files. Manually remove old versions of duplicate JAR files.
  2. Run the update script in your FTP server directory to update the start-up scripts.

Configuration update from Build 4 to Build 7

No configuration changes.

Configuration update to Build 4

  1. Copy the coloradoftp-update/conf/beans.xml file into the conf directory of your FTP server replacing the original. Note that this will remove all the changes you made to the file, so you need to configure your FTP server again, especially:
    • Remote and local IP addresses
    • Command port
    • Data ports
  2. Copy the coloradoftp-update/conf/build.txt file into the conf directory of your FTP server replacing the original.
