Generic Bundle is the original implementation of the ColoradoFTP server. It cannot be applied for production as it is because it contains limited configuration and may occupy your whole bandwidth and CPU when running. Additional plug-ins must be installed for production use.


Generic Bundle is a fully workable standalone application implementing absolutely all ColoradoFTP interfaces. Most of the implementations are fine as they are, but some of them will only provide dummy behaviour and must be replaced with advanced implementations (e.g. file system). More than that, the Generic Bundle contains only the most basic FTP commands, it does not know how to sing in registered users or how to work with files and where to look for them. These are the areas addressed by plug-ins – all you have to do is to install and configure plug-ins.


I recommend to install the following plug-ins:

  • Intelligent Pack to tune the server for production.
  • Impl 3659 to add FTP extensions.
  • Hard File System to work with your hard drive.
  • Gateway to provide sign in functionality.


Pre-configured server

Also note that there is a pre-configured server available which is powered by this Generic Bundle. It already includes some plug-ins and may be used out-of-the-box. If you don't want to configure the Generic Bundle and install plug-ins then take a look at FTP Server: Prime Edition instead.
